A warm welcome to our bilingual Kindergarten Citygate in Vienna-Floridsdorf!

Our kindergarten is an open and lively place with children and teachers from many different countries. Here, children can play, learn and pursue their interests. We encourage them to follow their curiosity, become independent and develop confidence in their abilities.

Our premises include six spacious group rooms, our own garden and gym. In this way, we support motor development and provide plenty of space for playing and running about.

Together, we also explore nature, visit the flower gardens in Hirschstetten and playgrounds, or go on trips to the library and museums.

Our child’s development over the years has been wonderful, and even now, as it will soon start school, we feel it will still benefit greatly. This is how we envision an educational partnership.

Parents

Good to know

We accompany children from their first year of life until they start school. This allows them to experience continuity, familiar caregivers, and a stable environment in which they can develop well.

Our groups:

  • 2 toddler groups: 1 to 3 years
  • 2 family groups: 1 to 6 years
  • 2 kindergarten groups: 3 to 6 years

For breakfast and snacks, we offer a varied selection of bread, muesli, milk, and yogurt, as well as regional, organic fruits and vegetables. Our lunch is varied and also offers allergy-friendly and vegetarian alternatives. It is important to us to teach children a positive attitude towards healthy food.

We offer early musical education* directly at our kindergarten in cooperation with Johann-Sebastian-Bach Musikschule.

Our pedagogical concept

Our kindergarten is bilingual (German/English) and works according to the "One person – one language" principle.

Furthermore, we place great value on learning with all senses. Because only when children discover the world through hearing, smelling, seeing, feeling, and tasting do stable foundations for school learning and independent action emerge.

Each child has a fixed core group with a familiar contact person for the child and the family. Throughout the day, children can also explore other areas – by arrangement. Especially important to us are:

  • Promoting independence through self-determined action.
  • School preparation in the last year of kindergarten with activities and visits to schools nearby such as OVS Wagramer Straße and Evangelische Volksschule Leopoldstadt.
  • An inclusive learning environment that responds to the individual needs of the children, and enables joy in movement and experiences in nature.

We value parents and guardians as the most important experts on their children. Regular developmental updates and informal meetings, such as our drop-off and pick-up cafés, ensure we stay in close contact.

The values of Diakonie Bildung

Our Protestant educational institutions place the child, with its individual development and dignity, at the center of their work. Christian faith is meant to be experienced through a culture of mindful togetherness, lived participation, and through offers for life orientation. More about the Protestant Profile.

Mobile support and counseling

Our mobile development guides have profound training and years of experience in the fields of inclusion, education, and counseling. They are networked across disciplines and are available to advise both our colleagues and the parents. Furthermore, our mobile inclusion educators support the staff with their expertise in everyday kindergarten life.

For our employees

With continuous training, supervision, professional guidance, and further education for our staff, we ensure the best possible care for your children. In a cooperation that is so far unique in Vienna, all kindergarten employees are trained by the Austrian Child Protection Association (Österreichischer Kinderschutzbund).
